About Make My Jeopardy
This is an independent project, built by longtime fans of the show who kept wanting to play it the way it looks on television: a board on the big screen, a room full of people, and a buzzer in every hand.
Why it exists
The tools that already existed got the board right and the room wrong. A slide deck looks the part, but there is no way to buzz in, so someone ends up refereeing shouts. The apps that do have buzzers want an account, a download on every phone, or a fee before the first game, and by the time everyone has installed something the evening has moved on. Playing with friends kept turning into playing near a laptop.
So the brief was narrow: make a board in a minute, put it on the TV, and let everyone join from the phone already in their pocket. No app, no sign-up, and the first press wins every time, whoever is holding the newer phone.
The choices behind it
- The free game is the whole game. A 6 × 5 board, unlimited players, buzzers, live scores and Final Jeopardy cost nothing and need no account. Pro pays for the hosting and adds the parts that save a host work, such as writing a board with AI or importing one from a spreadsheet.
- Buzz order is decided in one place. Every press races to the database, and the first to arrive wins. No phone’s clock is ever consulted, so a fast connection is not an advantage and a slow one is not a handicap.
- Your board stays yours. Boards are unlisted by default and reachable only through their links. There are no ads and nothing that follows you off this site; the privacy policy is short because there is little to disclose.
- The sounds are our own. The show’s theme and its Daily Double sting are copyrighted, so the cues here are synthesised rather than recorded. They do the job without borrowing anything.

Make My Jeopardy is a fan-made tool for running a quiz in the familiar format. It is not connected to, endorsed by, or affiliated with Jeopardy Productions, Sony Pictures Television, or the television programme. The clues in the board library were written for this site.
